Privacy Policy - GatherRound
What the GatherRound Android app does with data. The short version: your players, scores and settings never leave your device.
1. Data Stored On Your Device Only
The players you add (names and ages), scores and leaderboards, games in progress, favourited questions and jokes, and your settings including the After Dark switch are stored locally on your device. We cannot see them, and they are not sent to us or anyone else. Deleting the app deletes them.
2. Advertising (Google AdMob)
The free version of the app shows a banner ad served by Google AdMob. To serve and measure ads, Google may collect device identifiers (such as the Android advertising ID), IP address, and ad interaction data (such as impressions and clicks).
If you are in the UK or the European Economic Area, the app asks for your consent choices before any ad is requested, using Google's consent framework. You can change your choices at any time via "Ad Privacy Options" in the app's settings menu. If you do not consent, the app does not request ads.
How Google uses this data is described at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
Buying Remove Ads stops the app requesting ads entirely.
3. Purchases (RevenueCat and Google Play)
The Remove Ads purchase is processed by Google Play and managed through RevenueCat, a purchase infrastructure service. RevenueCat receives the purchase token and an anonymous app-generated identifier so your entitlement can be verified and restored. We do not receive your name, email address, or payment details.
RevenueCat's privacy policy is at revenuecat.com/privacy.
4. Crash And Error Diagnostics
To fix faults quickly, the app reports crashes and errors to Sentry, a diagnostics service. A report contains technical details of the failure (the error and where in the app it happened, plus basic device and app-version information).
It does not include your players' names or ages, your questions, your scores, or your settings. Reports carry no personal identifiers.
5. Who The App Is For
GatherRound is made for adults. It is a tool for a parent or host to run games at the table, and its After Dark mode is for adults only.
Children may play along in games an adult is running, but the app is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone. The family-friendly content default is a filter the adult controls, not a service for children.
6. What We Do Not Do
There is no sign-up and no registration of any kind.
The game itself plays entirely offline.
We do not collect your name, email address, contacts, photos, or precise location.
We do not sell data, to anyone, ever.
7. Your Rights
UK and EU users have rights over personal data, including access and erasure. The personal data involved here is held by Google (advertising), RevenueCat (purchases) and Sentry (crash diagnostics) as described above.
Ad consent can be changed in the app at any time. For anything else, contact us and we will help.
